The fear of the Hebrew root "paghad" is a strong fear. This is demonstrated by the fact that the verb also says "to tremble" and the noun "tremor" which is basically a trembling from fear. This places it very near Russian "pugatj" for "to frighten".
Note:
- Hebrew also has the intensive form "pighèd", that has the same, be it intensified meaning. The message "to frighten" as mentioned in the table, has been noted in medieval language.

- Proto-Semitic. This root is found in Aramaic "פ ח ד, peghad, he dreaded, feared". This gives just a narrow basis for a hypothesis for Proto-Semitic : "* פ ח ד , P GH D".
